A need to clear our studio of some old books and magazines led to procrastinational play, exploration and experimentation with hand cut paper collage.
Free and intuitive at first, becoming more focused, thanks to a commitment to produce a work for a fundraising exhibition and auction for the Western Cape Cart Horse Association ( http://carthorse.org.za. ).
This piece I titled ‘Rocinante’, which is Don Quixote‘s horse in the novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes. I also produced three simple ‘rock paper scissors’ works, which led to the title of my debut exhibition held from 27 February to 6 March 2019, at the Alex Hamilton Studio Gallery in Woodstock, Cape Town.
